Founded in 1973 as a small filleting company with only two employees, the company has grown into one of the leading fish suppliers in Europe, employing more than 150 in less then 35 years. Most of the fish comes fresh from the North sea. Directly after the trawlers arrive, the fish is brought to the fish market, where It’s selected and auctioned. The annual turnover is over 10.000 tons a year resulting in approximately 25 million euro’s. At Van der Lee Seafish the fish will be sorted, cleaned, filleted and prepared for added value products, or frozen and stored for sale. Because fish is a fresh food product, efficiency and hygiene are two of the most important ingredients to secure an excellent product. As well as setting our own high standards for hygiene to adhere easily to the most stringent requirements of the food industry, the quality systems are HACCP/BRC and IFS certified. With two coldstores that can hold a total of 2400 pallets 1600 tons of products, Van der Lee is ready to meet any demand. The company also has storages in other strategic locations worldwide.
